Frankfurt Airport Parking or a Transfer for 7 and 14 Days

Advance-booked holiday parking can cost less than a return transfer. Paying the standard terminal rate can make a transfer the cheaper choice. Your travel dates, home address, and car determine the outcome.

In order for a comparison to be valid, you must include the full cost of parking in your driving expenses. A one-way transfer price does not cover the whole trip.

Frankfurt Airport parking prices for 7 and 14 days

Below are the pricing of parking for the Frankfurt Airport. Pricing online depends on availability and the time you enter and leave.

Parking option7 days14 days
Holiday Parking booked onlineFrom €64From €95
Terminal Parking booked onlineFrom €99From €178
Terminal Parking without advance booking€258€349

Prices are checked on 19 October 2026. This official tariff is valid from 1 July 2026. The 14-day drive-up total is calculated from €258 for seven days, plus seven further days at €13 each.

The online figures are starting examples, rather than quotes, for every travel date. To check the exact parking price, enter your dates in the airport booking system and then add the confirmed price to your budget.

A 14-day does not always mean it costs twice as much as a week. Long-stay products have their own prices. Extending a pre-booked stay can also attract a different rate.

What the different parking options include

Terminal Parking

Terminal Parking offers access to the airport terminal car parks. The terminal parking is best for those travellers that want a short distance between their car and check-in. Frankfurt Airport has terminal parking available at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

A family carrying a pushchair with multiple bags will find the option of a direct path appealing. In some cases, the additional fee is quite reasonable if it avoids moving everyone onto another vehicle.

Holiday Parking Nord and Ost

Holiday Parking is an airport product that requires advance booking. The current options are Nord at Gateway Gardens and Ost in the Terminal 2 underground car park. Both have a minimum stay of three days.

Nord uses an S-Bahn connection to Terminal 1. The booking includes an RMV Kombi Ticket for up to five people. Ost uses a shuttle bus to Terminal 1. Travellers departing from Terminal 3 need a further terminal connection.

Therefore, a cheap car park price may contain more walking and waiting times. You should check the connection between your departure terminal and return flight. Just knowing the location of the car park will not give you the total connection time.

Parking with a private shuttle operator

Private parking operators provide a separate choice. You have to park the car at their site, and they will take you to the airport in their own vehicle.

Check what terminal the shuttle runs to. For instance, Parkhaus Platzhirsch operates the shuttle to Terminal 1. A passenger flying from Terminal 3 must include the onwards connection.

Prior to making any payments, ensure that you know how many people will be carried. Find out about large luggage, early and late pick-ups. Make sure whether you keep your keys or not.

Valet parking

In valet parking, the client gives their car to a driver on an arranged pick-up location. The car is parked by the operator, and the process of returning the vehicle is organised. It may help in reducing luggage you need to carry from one vehicle to another.

Ensure that the address for parking, terms of use and return are known. Check and document the condition of the car and the mile run at the time of pick-up. Compare the valet price with others.

Calculate the full cost of driving

Parking is only part of the amount you spend. A traveller driving a long distance will also use more fuel than someone living near the airport.

Include the parking fee for the total duration.

Include the cost of fuel or electricity for the journey there and back.

Include any road charges applicable to the journey.

Include the cost for any extra services, like passengers on the shuttle mentioned in the reservation.

Make sure to include any change or extension fees.

For example, a €90 parking booking plus €18 in fuel costs €108. If a shuttle supplement adds €12, the total becomes €120.

Fuel is not the full cost of running a car. Tyres, servicing and wear also have a cost. You can include a mileage allowance if you want to compare more than the immediate cash expense.

Compare parking with both transfer journeys

Add the outbound and return quotes together. Use the same passenger count, bags and vehicle needs for both legs.

Check whether the quoted amount includes child seats, extra stops and the agreed waiting allowance. Read what happens after a delayed flight. These details vary between providers.

A larger vehicle may change the result. Four adults with large cases could need a different vehicle from two people carrying cabin bags. Compare a vehicle that actually fits your group.

Worked examples for one week and two weeks

The examples below assume you can book the advertised starting parking prices. They use €18 for return fuel and an illustrative transfer quote of €50 each way. The transfer total is therefore €100.

These are sample calculations, not live offers for a particular travel date.

StayParking choiceParking plus fuelReturn transferLower total
7 daysHoliday Parking€64 + €18 = €82€100Parking by €18
7 daysTerminal Parking online€99 + €18 = €117€100Transfer by €17
14 daysHoliday Parking€95 + €18 = €113€100Transfer by €13
14 daysTerminal Parking online€178 + €18 = €196€100Transfer by €96

In the seven-day holiday example, parking leaves €18 more in the travel budget. Paying extra for a transfer would be a choice about convenience.

The two-week Terminal Parking example produces a much larger difference. But a higher return transfer quote could change that outcome. Replace every example figure with the prices available for your trip.

A family needing a larger vehicle

Suppose a family receives a parking quote of €120 for its trip. Fuel adds €18. A suitable vehicle for the return transfer costs €180 in total.

Parking costs €138, which is €42 less. The family may still prefer a driver after a late flight. On price alone, parking wins in this example.

Booking details that can change the final bill

The time you collect the car

Use the expected car collection time as your parking exit time. Landing, passport checks and baggage collection all happen before you reach the car.

Frankfurt Airport currently gives online bookings a shared six-hour grace period. Time used by entering early reduces the allowance left after your booked exit. Further charges can apply once that allowance is used. [5]

An advertised long-stay deal does not mean extra days use the same discounted price. Check the overstay conditions before choosing between two similar offers.

Cancellation and changes

The airport currently allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before the reserved entry time. Later cancellation can incur charges. A private operator may use different terms. [5]

A slightly more flexible booking may suit a trip with uncertain dates. Compare the total with the cancellation option you would actually need.

The connection to your terminal

Shuttle driving time is only one part of the journey. There may also be a wait, a walk to the stop and a connection between terminals.

Picture a family landing late with a sleeping child. A small saving may matter less than the number of times they must move their bags. Check the return route as carefully as the outward journey.

Vehicle height and charging

The airport lists a 2.10-metre entrance limit for its terminal car parks. Measure the full height if you use a roof box. [3]

For an electric car, check that the booking covers the required charging space. An ordinary parking reservation does not automatically include one. Electricity can be billed separately. [3]

When parking or a transfer makes sense

Parking can be a good fit when you have a competitive long-stay quote. It can also suit a larger family whose own car carries everyone and their bags. A short terminal walk may make the return straightforward.

A transfer can suit travellers who prefer to leave the car at home. It can be useful after an overnight flight or when the return quote is lower than the full driving total.

For a small difference, consider the journey home. A traveller who dislikes driving after a long flight may reasonably pay more for a driver.

Public transport is another option if the timetable and luggage arrangements suit your journey. Include the cost of reaching your local station when checking that alternative.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book the online offer after entering the car park?

No. The airport says an online booking cannot be applied after you enter. Its current booking conditions require booking at least 24 hours before arrival. [5]

Does a longer holiday always make a transfer cheaper?

No. A good parking deal can remain cheaper. The result depends on the return transfer quote, driving costs and any extras. The number of days alone is not enough to decide.

Should I use my flight arrival time as the parking exit time?

Allow for the time between landing and reaching the car. Baggage collection, border checks and the car park connection can all affect collection time.

Ghotra Ride can provide a quote for your route and travel dates. Compare both journeys with the full parking total before choosing.
